O'Connor told he can leave Crewe
The Northern Ireland international has been left out of the Alex squad recently for disciplinary reasons.
"I have spoken to Michael and his advisor and we have let him know that he would be available for loan if it suited us," Thordarson told the club's official website.
"We have a few players available for loan because some of them need to go out and play regular first-team football."
