Murphy keen on Crewe deal
Crewe midfielder Luke Murphy has revealed he wants to sign a new contract at the club but is willing to wait to put pen to paper.
The home-grown 20-year-old, who is out of contract at Gresty Road in the summer, has established himself as a regular in the Alex side that is currently on a 10-match unbeaten run.
Murphy said he is delighted he is getting a regular run in the team and is just focusing on working hard to keep his first team place and not dwelling on the fact that he has yet to open discussions with Crewe boss Dario Gradi regarding extending his deal.
He told the Crewe Sentinel: "I'm not the type to go knocking on the manager's door, but I've been at Crewe a long time and this is where I want to be. I'd want to extend my stay, but nothing has been mentioned.
"I feel more settled now I'm in the side. I've not been a first-team regular for long, so it is good for me to get a run. Hopefully it shows in the performances I'm putting in.
He added: "We're 10 games unbeaten and that is pretty incredible. Everyone is full of confidence and optimism that we will be able to push up with the top boys in League Two. We have been inconsistent over the past few years, so if we can keep this run going it would be something."
