Crewe Alexandra full-back Carl Martin has admitted long-term injury problems left him pondering his own future, with Dario Gradi saying at the clubs AGM that has not got a future. It's been a long journey but it seems that Carl Martin has gotten over his injury jinx that has playgued his career at the Alex.24 -year old Martin told BBC Radio Stoke"There was a point where I questioned myself but it didn't take long to know that this is what I grew up trying to do," "Injuries have set me back but I am back and I have to try and repay the faith everyone has shown in me." He added: "I have a massive 12 months in front of me and it really will determine my career."Martin became Dario Gradi's first signing when he returned as manager in 2009 and joined the Alex on a two-and-a-half year contract. He originally had a trial at the club that summer, but then manager Gudjon Thordarson elected to release him due to finances.Martin then trained with Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge and was close to signing for the Daggers until Gradi renewed Crewe's interest in the 24-year-old.
