Late rally appeases Alex boss Gradi

Clayton Donaldson latched on to a long punt and tucked home a simple finish to give Crewe the perfect start after 13 minutes before John O'Flynn and Matthew Lockwood struck for the Bees. A clever set-piece routine and Donaldson's second then salvaged a draw for the hosts.[LNB]Gradi believes hard work on the training ground paid dividends, but was left disappointed with aspects of his side's play in between Donaldson's two goals.[LNB]"We haven't practised that routine for a long time, but it's paid off and it shows the value of training on free-kicks," he said.[LNB]"We got off to a great start and Clayton took his goal really well. But we didn't play well after that. We were our own worst enemies and got caught in possession, our passing wasn't good and we defended poorly.[LNB]"We did better in the second half. Credit to the lads they didn't give up and we kept up our habit of scoring late goals. But they were well organised and I am happy with the point in the end.'[LNB][LNB]
