Jones should be fit for Railwaymen

Jones was withdrawn at half-time after complaining of a tight hamstring, but boss Gudjon Thordarson insists it was merely a precautionary measure ahead of Saturday's clash against Dagenham. "Billy felt it tighten up in the first half and we are not going to take any chances with him," Thordarson told the club's official website. "I won't risk any player with the kick-off (to the season) so close. We expect him to be okay for the weekend." James McFadden put Birmingham ahead at Gresty Road on Tuesday night but goals from Steven Schumacher, Joel Grant, Matthew Mitchel-King and a Franck Queudrue own goal ensured the Alex will go into their opening League Two game at home to Dagenham full of confidence.
