Gradi vows to look after Powell
Boss Dario Gradi has revealed 16-year-old Nick Powell could feature in Crewe's first team this season.
The highly-rated England youth international made his senior debut in Alex's friendly against Blackpool last week and although Gradi is wary of promoting the teenager too soon, he will consider including him in the squad for Saturday's League Two opener against Hereford.
"It is early for Nick and I don't want him to play too much yet. He doesn't want to be playing too often as he is still developing as a young player." Gradi told the club's official website.
"He got a taste of it against Blackpool and I certainly have not ruled out using him again this season at some point."
