Gradi states case for defence

Shaun Miller put Crewe in front in the 27th minute but Shaun Harrad equalised for Burton soon after before substitute Clayton Donaldson popped up late on to earn Crewe only their second win in nine games.[LNB]But it was the quality of Alex's defending that most impressed Gradi.[LNB]He said: "I read in Paul's programme notes that part of the reason for their recent success is the way they have defended as a team.[LNB]"That's what we've been working on all week and it was something I impressed on the players before the start.[LNB]"I would have been happy with a point because we took a lot of pressure, so it was a bonus to get the late goal. We defended as a team and we didn't make any mistakes and what also pleased me is we tried to play what I call the Crewe way."[LNB][LNB]
