Gradi ponders loan players

Manager Dario Gradi has vowed to re-examine the loan market to boost Crewe's ailing defence following the 3-2 defeat at Accrington. Alex have conceded 14 goals in losing four of their last five games as their League Two promotion hopes have taken a dive. Gradi made changes in both full-back positions at the Crown Ground, but was still not satisfied with his side's defensive work on a difficult surface. "How you can expect to win any game if you let in three goals is beyond me," said Gradi, who recalled Danny Blanchett at left-back and switched Matt Tootle to the right. "The back four can't seem to stop the goals flying in, so we'll have to look and see if we can improve the personnel there. "We'll have to look outside the club I think. I'll be asking Neil Baker (assistant manager/chief scout) if he has any names for me."
