Gradi pleased with Alex youngsters

The teenagers were criticised following their performances in the derby defeat to Port Vale but retained their places in the side for Saturday's game against Notts County. Although Alex were beaten 2-0, Gradi was pleased with the way the two players bounced back with decent displays at Meadow Lane. "I was pleased with the two young lads, they had the confidence to get the ball down and pass it. Westy did that and I think the good thing about Shelley is that he doesn't let his head drop if things don't go well for him," Gradi told the club's official website. "He gets himself going again. He does some good things and not so good things, but he doesn't let them affect him. "They are our own kids and will develop. They know that have to keep going into the team and making an impact."
