Gradi happy with a point

Dario Gradi was satisfied after seeing his Crewe side battle back for a share of the spoils in the 1-1 draw with Burton. The Brewers dominated the first half and it was a surprise they had to wait until the 44th minute for Jacques Maghoma's goal. The former Tottenham youngster pounced on an opening made by Richard Walker to smash a 20-yard shot into the top corner. However, Crewe enjoyed more of the possession after the break and an improved display was rewarded when Luke Murphy made room to squeeze home a 15-yard shot in the 63rd minute. "I thought it was a fair result. They had the better of the first half and I thought we had the better of the second," said Alex boss Gradi. "It was a decent game between two decent teams. We`ve got some exciting kids but they're still finding their feet. I thought we were a bit nervous first half and the back players were whacking the ball because they didn't have the confidence to roll the ball. "We might as well have rolled and lost it because we gave them the ball anyway in the first half. I would have liked to have won the game but at half-time I would have settled for a point."
