Gradi: Crewe lacked the quality

Chris O'Grady's early strike and an own goal from Mark Tootle sealed all three points for Dale, who successfully bounced back from Monday's defeat by Bury.[LNB]And Gradi, who lost Calvin Zola to injury after two minutes, said: "It wasn't a good afternoon for us. The boys stuck at it but we couldn't produce the kind of quality we are capable of.[LNB]"Rochdale strung moves together better than we did and we gave the ball away more than they did.[LNB]"The circumstances didn't help us, losing Calvin Zola in the opening minutes. We were unfortunate with that injury and then we might have had a penalty (when Scott Wiseman fouled Byron Moore).[LNB]"The own goal straight after half-time didn't help either. It was always going to be difficult for us, and while we stuck at it and might have had a goal, I don't think we played well enough to get anything out of the game.[LNB]"Their strikers gave our defenders a hard time all afternoon and our centre halves have got to do better."[LNB][LNB]
