Gradi content with point
Crewe boss Dario Gradi felt his side showed signs of improvement despite failing to take maximum points in the 1-1 draw at home to Gillingham.
Curtis Weston's 25-yard screamer saw Gillingham stretch their unbeaten run to five games and kept Crewe out of the play-off zone.
Weston struck after the break with a fine right-foot finish to cancel out team-mate Tony Sinclair's first-half own goal.
Gradi said: "It's not easy to play football on that pitch and we made a lot of silly mistakes so it was a bit scrappy.
"I thought we made the best chances but I was happy with a draw after the way the game panned out.
"We live to fight another day and next week we should have Shaun Miller and Clayton Donaldson available again."
