Danny Gardner is to released at the end of the season after the former Celtic player had not done enough to earn an extended contract. The 19-year old striker joined the Railwaymen in February after impressing during a trial at the club but has only featured twice as a subsitute.Intrim boss Dario Gradi had hoped to give the former Flixton man a run out against Rotherham and Bradford but he picked up an ankle injury while out running.Gradi told rerporters "Time has run out for Danny. He has done okay but hasn't got us on the edge of our seats. He came on in the last game and didn't do anything wrong but didn't do enough to suggest he should stay."I would like to have seen him play again but that is not possible now. He could still be a decent player elsewhere."
