Four held over death near cinema

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a man who was found seriously injured outside a cinema.Police were alerted to an incident near Cineworld on Middleway Park, Guild Street, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, early on Sunday. [LNB]The man, in his late 20s and from the Burton area, was treated for facial and head injuries but later died. [LNB]Four males have been taken into police custody for questioning. [LNB]Extra patrols[LNB]The scene was cordoned off and a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out. [LNB]Officers would provide a "highly-visible presence" in the area over the coming days to reassure members of the public, the Staffordshire force said. [LNB]Det Ch Insp Selwyn Burton, from Trent Valley Division, said: "I wish to reassure members of the public that incidents like this are rare. [LNB]"Our thoughts are with the man's friends and family at this distressing time." [LNB]Staffordshire Police, which was called at about 0220 GMT, said detectives from its major investigations department had started an inquiry. [LNB]It asked anyone with information to contact the force or Crimestoppers.
