The 24-year-old striker limped out of the 2-1 home defeat to derby rivals Port Vale on Saturday just before half-time. Caretaker manager Dario Gradi initially feared he could be without his 10-goal top scorer for a considerable length of time. However, Alex head physio Rob Sharp told the club's official website: "Calvin has a slight strain in his left groin muscle. "There are good early signs and we will assess him again in the middle of the week to see if he will be fit enough to be available for the weekend. "He won't train again until then and he will continue to have treatment."
