Davis fires goalkeeper warning

Button signed on a six-month loan from Tottenham on Wednesday to provide competition for current custodians Adam Legzdins and Steve Collis between the sticks. But Davis knows that three into one will not go and, with the club's wage bill to consider, he concedes that a keeper may soon be heading for the Gresty Road exit door. He told the Alex's official website: "David will come here and challenge for the number one spot with Steve and Adam. That is what we wanted but perhaps we have to be a little bit realistic. "One of the goalkeepers may leave the club at some point because we cannot afford to keep three senior goalkeepers in this day and age. "David has youth and height on his side and will challenge for a place, but we are working to a tight budget and when that happens you have to juggle your personnel around a bit sometimes."
