Crewe manager Dario Gradi praised the character of his players after a Clayton Donaldson double secured a 2-1 win against Morecambe. The visitors took the lead in the 58th minute when Phil Jevons provided a cross for Garry Hunter, who fired home from inside the area. Donaldson then stirred into life with a close-range finish after 71 minutes and his 27th of the season in stoppage time when he headed home Lee Bell's cross. Gradi said: "That`s the first time we have come from behind to win a game all season so we are delighted. I was pleased with the boys. They were trying to do what I asked them to do and we created the most chances and we had the edge. "I was delighted for Clayton. He was denied a penalty and never gave up but if I could get him to play to his strengths he would score a lot more. But he is trying and he is trying to improve. "It will be interesting to see where that leaves us in the table now and we are going enjoy it while we are still in the mix for the play-offs."
