Daggers test starts Alex campaign
Thordarson's team will spend much of the remainder of the month clocking up the miles with long journeys to Grimsby (August 15), Darlington (August 18) and Bournemouth (August 29).
The Alex's only other game at Gresty Road during the opening month of the season is against Hereford on August 22.
Crewe's Christmas schedule sees them host Torquay on December 19 and Rochdale on Boxing Day, while 2009 finishes with the short trip to Macclesfield on December 28.
Bradford provide the opponents for the final game of the season at home on May 8.
