Crewe without Clayton

28 January 2011 10:30
Leading scorer Clayton Donaldson is suspended for Crewe`s home game against Accrington. The 16-goal striker was sent off for violent conduct during the home win over Bradford on Tuesday night and begins a three-match ban. With Calvin Zola having joined Burton on loan, Donaldson`s absence opens the door for either Ajay Leitch-Smith or Joel Grant to come into the side. Both players got a run-out in a reserve-team fixture at Aston Villa this week. Alex boss Dario Gradi has another selection conundrum as on-loan goalkeeper Rhys Taylor is available again after serving a one-match suspension against Bradford. Gradi must decide whether to recall the Chelsea youngster or stick with the experienced Steve Phillips, who made his first start of the season against the Bantams.
