Crewe set for managerless Crawley

Ryan Colclough is expected to be missing once again when Crewe host managerless Crawley at Gresty Road.

The teenage forward has suffered a multitude of injuries lately but it is a chest infection which is currently keeping him on the sidelines. He was back in training on Thursday but looks highly doubtful to feature at the weekend.

Boss Steve Davis could add new signings Tom Hitchcock and Buomesca Tue Na Bangna to the squad after both forwards joined on loan from QPR and Fulham respectively, but Mathias Pogba (knee), Max Clayton (ankle) and George Ray (hamstring) all miss out.

Defender Mark Ellis should feature despite sustaining a knock at Carlisle in midweek while it remains to be seen whether Davis will continue to leave midfield pair Bradden Inman and Anthony Grant, punished for their lack of attitude, out in the cold.

Gary Alexander has yet to decide whether to pick himself for Crawley.

Veteran striker Alexander and chief scout Martin Hinshelwood are in caretaker charge after manager Richie Barker was sacked on Wednesday.

Alexander hinted he would rather not play in order to focus on his new role, but with Crawley having such a small squad he may be named on the bench just to make up the numbers.

The new management duo will check on midfielder Mike Jones, who dropped to the bench at Swindon last week to rest a groin niggle, but otherwise Town have no new injury concerns.
