Davis with clean bill of health

Crewe manager Steve Davis has no new injury concerns as his side welcome Crawley to the Alexandra Stadium.

Kelvin Mellor (knee) and AJ Leitch-Smith (ankle) are the only absentees for the clash, with Davis attempting to mastermind a third-straight home victory.

Michael West has returned to training following illness, but is not likely to be included in the squad as he continues to build up his match fitness.

Teenagers Max Clayton and Ryan Colclough were both named on the bench in the 3-3 draw against Sheffield United on Tuesday night as they put their injury concerns behind them.

Clayton will be looking for his first start in over a month against Richie Barker's men, while Colclough is still waiting for his first appearance after missing 11 games with a broken jaw.

Mark Ellis, Mathias Pogba, and Chuks Aneke were all on the scoresheet against the Blades and will keep their places in Davis' starting line-up.

Richie Barker could hand Connor Clifford his Crawley debut.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international moved to the Red Devils from Chelsea on Thursday in a loan deal which will see him stay at the npower League One outfit until January.

Barker told the club's official website: "Conor is a player our management team including (Director of Football) Steve Coppell and (Chief Scout) Martin Hinshelwood have identified for some time.

"Chelsea rate him very highly. He is a very good midfield player and he will add significantly to our options as we approach the busiest time of the season.

"A lot of clubs were keen to sign him on loan before the loan deadline on Thursday and we are delighted to have him with us."

Elsewhere Claude Davis returns from suspension but Joe Walsh still has two matches to serve for the straight red card he picked up in the draw with Walsall last weekend.
