Crewe will welcome back Matt Tootle and Lauri Dalla Valle when they entertain Bury at Gresty Road.

Centre-back Tootle returns from a one-game suspension to bolster Alex's defensive options with Ollie Turton likely to make way to accommodate the 22-year-old.

Striker Dalla Valle missed the 3-1 victory at Preston with a foot injury after recently extending his loan stay with the Railwaymen.

Manager Steve Davis confirmed the Fulham youngster had a small puncture wound from a stud in his foot with Alex opting to err on the side of caution.

However, after returning to training, Dalla Valle is expected to take his place in the squad.

Davis does still have concerns over both Ajay Leitch-Smith and Kelvin Mellor, though, with neither player likely to take part.

Striker Leitch-Smith is struggling with an ankle injury while the versatile Mellor is troubled by a knee problem.

Bury boss Kevin Blackwell could welcome fit-again striker David Healy back into his starting XI.

The Northern Ireland international has not appeared for the Shakers since his country's 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan due to a calf injury but is set to provide an extra option in attack for Blackwell.

On-loan Leicester forward Tom Hopper is available for selection once again after he was ineligible for Tuesday's FA Cup defeat to Southend.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (shin) is rated as doubtful, while Shane Byrne (illness) and Zac Thompson (hamstring) are likely to miss out.

Striker Andy Bishop will be out for around four weeks with a foot injury and defender Adam Lockwood (groin) remains sidelined.

Phil Picken (knee) is a long-term absentee.
