Crewe will run the rule over a host of minor fitness concerns holding over from their Johnstone's Paint Trophy final triumph when they return to npower League One action against Brentford.
Captain Luke Murphy opened the scoring in fine style before leading his side to a 2-0 Wembley victory over Southend but Sunday's match was his first in more than a fortnight due to a groin problem and the midfielder required the help of a painkilling injection to play.
Similarly, full-back Kelvin Mellor completed 90 minutes following a jab in his toe.
On-loan Newcastle youngster Brad Inman was replaced during the second half as he continues to build fitness following an ankle injury, while top scorer Mathias Pogba (thigh) when Uwe Rosler's side visit Gresty Road.
"Pogba won't play on Wednesday," said Alex assistant manager Neil Baker. "Murph will be stiff because he hasn't played or trained for a period, Brad's the same - he hasn't played much football.
"Kelvin had an injection in his toe. It's just bumps and bruises but they've got to pick themselves up and go again."
Brentford midfielder Jonathan Douglas is expected to be ready in time.
The former Republic of Ireland international was taken off at half-time during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Coventry after picking up a knock, but is likely to recover in time for the clash.
Veteran midfielder Kevin O'Connor returned to Uwe Rosler's squad at the weekend following his recovery from an ankle injury that has kept him out of action since November 6. He is in contention to play some part against the Railwaymen.
Defender Scott Barron (hip) and goalkeeper Richard Lee (shoulder) remain out but long-term absentee Farid El Alagui (knee) could return.
The Bees will be hoping for a return to winning ways on Wednesday, having picked up just one point in their last two games.
