Crewe chief: Davis may be ready
The centre-half has been at the club since the age of seven and has yet to make his senior debut, despite making the bench on several occasions.
With Harry Worley out of the trip to Notts County on Saturday and Danny O'Donnell a slight doubt, Davis could be called into action at Meadow Lane.
Gradi said: "He knows the job, makes good decisions, doesn't flap and has got bigger and quicker.
"It would be interesting to see how he did, although I'm not desperate to put him in the team."
