Crewe boss confident of survival
Brighton's win at Bristol Rovers and Northampton's home draw against Scunthorpe on Tuesday night saw both clubs leapfrog Thordarson's side.
Crewe travel to Stockport on Friday evening before concluding their campaign against champions Leicester at Gresty Road.
Thordarson said: "I am confident we will do what is required in the last two games. We will find out what the players are made of on Friday.
"It will be the most important game some of the players have ever played in.
"I have thought about everything - the formation and personnel. I can help and guide them but when they cross the line they have to do the job. When you look in the mirror you have to deal with yourself. This is no time for excuses."
