Crewe boss Dario Gradi has revealed the club considered a move for teenage striker Jake Cassidy, who joined Wolves from Airbus UK on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee. Cassidy, 17, has signed a two-year deal at Molineux after impressing during a trial spell. But the youngster was on Crewe`s radar following a recommendation from former Alex player Steve Walters. Gradi told the club`s official website: "I saw that Jake has moved to Wolves and that is one we have been interested in since he was recommended to us by Steve Walters. "Steve is a manager in the Welsh league and thought very highly of the lad. "I just think he went above us a bit in the end, but we will keep looking for promising young players."
