Gradi was back as caretaker boss at Gresty Road for the second time following Friday's sacking of Gudjon Thordarson, and he got off to a great start as the Alex took the lead with a flowing move in the sixth minute Luke Murphy's pass found Joel Grant in the box and the winger cut a low cross back across goal and Steven Schumacher slid in to finish from close range. United were on level terms in the 14th minute when David Button was caught out by Kevin Ellison's corner kick which curled straight into the far corner of the net. Alex took the lead for a second time in the 51st minute when Shaun Miller lost his man and played a slide-rule pass into the path of Calvin Zola who powered through and slipped the ball under keeper Andy Warrington. But the Millers pegged them back again six minutes later. Harry Worley tripped Adam Le Fondre in the box and the striker made no mistake from the spot, before Broughton stole the points with five minutes to go catching David Button off his line with a superb finish.
