Artell blow for Alex

Crewe will be without David Artell for the visit of Bradford. The centre-half has been nursing a calf injury and hopes to be involved against Accrington on Saturday, but boss Dario Gradi sees the trip to Rotherham the following weekend as a more realistic target. "Dave will not be considered on Tuesday night because he has not trained yet," said Gradi. "Saturday is an option but I doubt he will be ready for that one either. The more realistic aim will be at Rotherham the weekend after." Academy product Adam Dugdale will retain his place in the side. Crewe are waiting to see if their appeal against Rhys Taylor`s red card against Aldershot is successful. The goalkeeper was sent off in the defeat at Aldershot at the weekend for allegedly handling the ball outside the area. Should the appeal fail, Taylor, who has been called up to the Wales Under-21 squad to face Northern Ireland next month, will serve a one-match suspension. Steve Phillips would replace him between the posts.
