Alex shut out delights Thordarson

Alex skipper Billy Jones scored the only goal of the game heading in after seeing his penalty rebound back off the goalkeeper. The Bulls failed to respond and Crewe substitute Anthony Elding had a second goal harshly ruled for offside. Thordarson said: "We had chances but needed to finish them and it's always tricky when you're only leading by one goal. It's our third clean sheet and we are defending in a proper manner again and not conceding sloppy goals. "One-nil is enough for me but I wanted to try and get the second goal and kill the game. It was difficult for me to see why we had a goal disallowed as Anthony (Elding) said he started his run from behind the defender. "The fans were behind us which makes a massive difference and it's a great feeling to have their support."
