Crewe Alexandra assistant manager Steve Davis is convinced that there is more to come from his team over the second half of the season. The Alex, top scorers in League Two, are just two points adrift of the play-off places. [LNB]"We are happy with where we are, but we have to hit the ground running when we start playing again," Davis told BBC Radio Stoke." [LNB]Crewe are without a game on Tuesday as the home fixture to Southend is off. [LNB]The match was called off on Monday morning after the match referee requested an early pitch inspection at the Alexandra Stadium. [LNB]It is the third fixture in a row that Crewe have had postponed.[LNB] [LNB][LNB] And, when they host Northampton Town on New Year's Day, it will have been three weeks since they last played - the 3-3 draw at Stockport on 11 December. [LNB]"The players have to make sure they keep themselves in good shape as there is a lot of points to be had over a short space of time," said Davis. "When it's finished, you will have a good idea of what you're going to do in the second half of the season. [LNB]"I think we should be higher in the table. It's a very tight league this year and, if we get a good run of wins, we can be right in the mix when it comes to the real business end of the season in March and April."
