Alex eyeing Webster

Burton defender Aaron Webster is a transfer target for npower League Two rivals Crewe, according to Albion boss Paul Peschisolido. The 29-year-old was challenged to work on his fitness over the summer and has now been rewarded with the offer of a contract extension. However he is also wanted by Crewe and Peschisolido is keeping his fingers crossed that the player will stay at the Pirelli Stadium. "I`ve said all along and I have told him that he could be, potentially, the best player in the league. He`s got fantastic ability and what has held him back has been himself," Peschisolido told Burton`s official club website. "He`s taken what I`ve said on board, worked his socks off all summer and come back extremely fit. "Aaron could be a huge asset so I don't want to lose him, but what I wanted to see was that hunger and I certainly got that. We have sat down again and maybe tweaked the contract details a little bit and I am hoping that he comes back and says yes to me." Peschisolido added: "It seems Crewe have been interested all along, so we'll just have to see what happens."
