The Railwaymen's 2-1 loss at home to Cheltenham on Saturday was compounded by wins for relegation rivals Northampton, Brighton and Hartlepool. Crewe are just a point clear of the drop zone, but Northampton have two games in hands and Brighton one game in hand over Thordarson's team. By the time they travel to Stockport on Friday evening, Crewe could be back in the bottom four as both the Cobblers and the Seagulls are in action on Tuesday night. "That wasn't acceptable against Cheltenham and I'm sure my players will agree with me when they get a chance to see the game again. The team is wide open now for Stockport, none of those players can expect to be picked," said Thordarson. "It will be a case of getting back to the drawing board. We have now got to get them ready to commit themselves better than they have showed."
