Reds to check on Clarke

Crawley will check on Billy Clarke ahead of the visit of Port Vale.

Town's four-goal top scorer has been sidelined for the last two matches with a knee injury but has been able to return to training and will be assessed prior to kick-off.

James Hurst also missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Bradford through suspension and is set to return at right-back, which will allow Josh Simpson to move back to his preferred midfield role.

Boss Richie Barker should therefore have a full squad at his disposal having only been able to name six substitutes at the weekend.

Port Vale travel without the suspended Daniel Jones but fellow defender Carl Dickinson will come back into the reckoning after his ban.

Jones was cautioned twice and subsequently sent off after only 20 minutes of Vale's 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday and the full-back will serve a one-match suspension.

Dickinson sat out the game at Bramall Lane after racking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign during the home defeat to Peterborough the previous weekend.

Vale have recalled Jordan Hugill from his loan spell at Conference side Gateshead, where he scored five goals during his month-long stay, and the 21-year-old striker could be in contention for a place in the squad on Tuesday night.
