Harrold blow for Town
Crawley's Matt Harrold is definitely out of the Capital One Cup clash after having minor surgery on his knee.
Harold, who arrived from Bristol Rovers in the summer, is expected to remain sidelined for their next three matches.
Captain Josh Simpson had to be replaced at half-time during their opening-day win over Barnsley and he appeared on crutches to watch the second half. Manager John Gregory insists it was just a precaution, but confirmed Simpson will miss the Ipswich clash.
Gavin Tomlin, who suffered a hamstring injury in pre-season against Chelsea, was an unused sub in the match at Oakwell and he could feature.
Mick McCarthy revealed midfielder Cole Skuse suffered a foot injury during Ipswich's 2-1 win over Fulham in Saturday's Championship opener as Town prepare for the trip.
The 28-year-old former Bristol City stalwart had to be taken off after 70 minutes of the Portman Road victory against the Cottagers.
However, the Tractor Boys were buoyed by seeing David McGoldrick score on his return from a five-month absence after suffering a knee injury against Blackpool back in February.
"It was great to see Didz back," said McCarthy. "We didn't think he'd make the first game a few weeks back but he has worked really hard and the physio's must take credit as well. He's top quality and it was a boost for everyone to see him out there."
