Crawley in stalemate again

Crawley played out their second successive goalless draw, and third stalemate in a row, as honours finished even in their home clash with Swindon.

The visitors finished with 10 men when defender Nathan Byrne was sent off for two bookable offences three minutes from time.

Swindon had the better of the opportunities and striker Nick Ajose, who was on loan with Crawley from Peterborough last season, struck a post six minutes from time following a pass by substitute Ryan Mason.

Crawley striker Jamie Proctor had a header saved low down by Wes Foderingham soon after the break.

Crawley skipper Josh Simpson also fired wide from 25 yards before Ajose's attempted lob went just over 20 minutes from time.

Ajose had the ball in the net in the 28th minute but the effort was ruled out for handball.

Crawley went closest after 29 minutes when a right-foot shot from Mark Connolly was pushed round the post by Foderingham.
