Shields sore at Hibs exit

Hibernian defender Jay Shields is set to leave the club in the summer after being told that he will not be offered a new contract.
The 22-year-old, who has recently returned to Easter Road after a spell on loan with Dundee, believes he is being victimised for being part of a group of players that requested a meeting with chairman Rod Petrie last month to criticise boss John Collins.
"The manager said he couldn't see me getting into the team ahead of Steven Whittaker and, with Kevin McCann doing well, he couldn't have three players for the same position," Shields told the Daily Record.
"That's fair enough, but it was disappointing that he used the meeting with the chairman as an excuse as well.
"I don't think it's fair to single out individuals and I didn't even speak during the meeting."
