Lewis Milne may make Cowdenbeath comeback against Ayr

Cowdenbeath could have Lewis Milne back in their ranks after a knee injury when title-chasing Ayr visit Central Park.

A recurrence of a foot injury sees Jack Beaumont miss out, with Kyle Miller's foot problem keeping him sidelined as the Fifers look to move to the fringes of the play-off chase.

Manager Colin Nish said: "The last time the sides met Ayr blew us away with a 5-0 win on a day where we started badly and never recovered.

"We believe we have improved since then and can push higher in the table but we recognise that this will be a test of that improvement."

Ayr look set to rule out Brian Gilmour after he sustained a knee injury in Saturday's 2-1 win over Brechin. Ross Docherty continues to be out with an ankle injury and with Paddy Boyle and Jamie Adams also carrying knocks, manager Ian McCall has delayed naming his side.

McCall said: "It was good to pick up a win after losing to Dunfermline and Peterhead and we now have the chance to move back to within three points of the top.

"Cowdenbeath have a terrific home record and we may have to change our shape from the very open one we had against Brechin to recognise that."
