Blue Brazil unsure on Halsman

Jordan Halsman is doubtful for Cowdenbeath as they entertain fellow strugglers Alloa.

Club skipper John Armstrong is also set to miss out again due to an ankle injury.

The Blue Brazil are looking to build on their win at Dumbarton last weekend, as manager Jimmy Nicholl explained: "That success kept Dumbarton in our sights in terms of looking up the way and winning this game would create a bigger gap down the way to Alloa.

"It was a terrific three points to pick up in our last game and hopefully the confidence that the players took from it will help us in what is a really crucial game against Alloa."

Alloa welcome back Ben Gordon and Ryan McCord from bans as they look for the win that will take them back above their hosts in the table.

Kyle Benedictus will miss after being sent off in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Queen of the South, while midfielder Stephen Simmons remains a doubt with a back injury.

Manager Barry Smith said: "We all know that this would be a terrific game to win as being ahead on goal difference is simply a lot better than being six points behind.

"To secure the three points we need to be a lot more ruthless in front of goal and be error free in defence."
