Megginson at the double

Two goals from Mitchel Megginson helped Dumbarton edge a six-goal thriller 4-2 at Central Park.

Both sides, struggling at the wrong end of the Scottish Championship, flew out of the traps and swapped two goals within the first five minutes.

Only 150 seconds in James Stevenson's cross was finished by Kyle Miller to break the deadlock but the visitors struck back a minute later when Colin Nish found the bottom right-hand corner.

And they took the lead in the 22nd minute when Megginson fired home from inside the box only for the game's fourth goal to follow five minutes later from the right foot of James Stevenson.

Six minutes after the break Dumbarton, looking to move nine points clear of their hosts, took the lead for the second time through Christopher Kane.

And they secured the points with eight minutes to go when Megginson grabbed his second of a productive afternoon.
