Alloa brush aside Blue Brazil

Alloa picked up their first points of the season with a convincing 3-0 win over an out-of-sorts Cowdenbeath.

Goals from Kevin Cawley, Greig Spence and Liam Buchanan gave Alloa a well-deserved victory as they warmed up for Tuesday's Scottish League Cup tie with Hamilton in style.

Cowdenbeath's rhythm was disrupted by injury early on, which saw Craig Sutherland leave the field seven minutes in. His replacement, Craig Johnston, was then brought off for Danijel Jurisic shortly after.

They never recovered, with Alloa taking the lead through Cawley, who beat his man before driving the ball hard and low into the bottom corner from outside the area.

Spence extended their advantage with a header three minutes into the second half - his seventh goal in all competitions - and the win was completed after 54 minutes by Buchanan's close-range finish.
