Russell on the mark in Queens win
Iain Russell scored his 10th goal of the season as Queen of the South claimed a 2-0 win against Cowdenbeath.
Kane Hemmings was denied an early goal for Cowdenbeath after Alexander Clark palmed his shot away, while Derek Lyle had a header for the away side on the half-hour that went just wide from close range.
Cowdenbeath went close through James Stevenson on the half hour but his effort whistled wide
And they went behind on the stroke of half-time after Russell's raking pass found Paul Burns and he slotted in from six yards - his first goal of the season.
They wrapped up the points midway through the second half thanks to Russell, who coolly converted from 12 yards after good work from Lyle.
