Coventry City have rewarded young full-back Andrew Whing for his impressive start to the season by handing him a two-year extension to his contract.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut last season and Sky Blues boss Gary McAllister was pleased enough with his progress to hand him a two-year professional contract then, meaning that this latest deal will keep him at Highfield Road until 2007.
McAllister told the club's official website: "Andrew Whing knows where we are coming from as far as he is concerned.
"He's progressing up the ladder nicely here and we've been delighted with the way he has developed.
"When I arrived he was an apprentice on £80 a week and he's now played a lot of first-team games. He's been a big success since I've come here."
Whing has played 31 league games for City, including 17 during the current campaign.
