Whing eyes Seagulls stay

Coventry City defender Andrew Whing is keen to turn his loan stint at Brighton & Hove Albion into a permanent switch in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old had grown frustrated at not being a first-team regular with the Sky Blues and has enjoyed the chance to shine with the Seagulls.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "I am very happy here. I am playing games, we are playing really well and everybody has been great to me.

"At Coventry I was in and out of the team and I don't really want to be doing that again.

"I've had a couple of years of that and I am at a stage of my career now where I need to be playing games.

"Brighton have made that possible and hopefully I can stay here and continue to do that."
