We Need To Be Able To Handle Setbacks - Pressley

City Boss On Bouncing Back

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that the Sky Blues need to be able to handle setbacks such as the 3-2 defeat at Port Vale and respond to them.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said: I think one of the things we need to show is that we can handle the setback. “We are a young team and disappointment is part of the process, but its all about how we respond to that because the best players always respond in the best manner. And that has to be ourselves this weekend.

“The most important thing for me is that we reflect on the situation because we’ve come such a long way in a short period and we have to keep improving.

“I spoke to the group and said that Saturday was a setback but we have probably exceeded any expectation levels in terms of not just the results, but the performances as well.

“Saturday proves that we have still got a long, long way to go and that is an important factor for ourselves because there is a lot of improvement to be made.

“The progress has been great, especially when you consider that nineteen players left us from last season’s squad and we’ve brought four in from the Under-18s and only two new senior recruits in Andy Webster and Mathieu Manset, so the strides the boys within the club have taken have been massive and we’re really proud of that.”
