Trio offered new deals
Coventry have offered new contracts to key trio Marlon King, Keiren Westwood and Aron Gunnarsson. The news comes after Andy Thorn was confirmed as the club`s new permanent manager on Thursday afternoon following his impressive efforts as caretaker boss in keeping the Sky Blues in the Championship.Leading goalscorer King, highly-rated Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Westwood and Iceland international midfielder Gunnarsson are not short of suitors and could well leave the Ricoh Arena at the end of the season should they wish. But City are keen to keep hold of their services and, in the case of Westwood and Gunnarsson who signed three-year contracts in 2008, the latest offers come after previous unsuccessful attempts to tie down their futures to the club.King, in late September, signed a deal with Coventry until the end of the season having been lured to the Ricoh Arena by previous boss Aidy Boothroyd and he has proved an shrewd capture with a total of 13 goals in 27 appearances.Thorn said: "They are happy with the way we are playing and we love them to bits and we want them to stay. But we live in the world of football and if people think that`s not enough then so be it and they will go with our blessing and we will get our heads down and bring other people in. But we want them to be a part of what we are doing at the football club."
