Teenage midfielder Kevin Thornton has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract that will keep him at Coventry City until June 2008.
The Irishman, who has made 15 first-team appearances this term after graduating from the Sky Blues' youth set-up, was due to be out of contract in the summer and manager Micky Adams was delighted he agreed to stay on.
"Kevin has undoubted potential, which I believe he has shown when he has appeared for the first team this season," Adams told the club's official website.
"He is one of a batch of young players that we see as playing a part in the future of Coventry City and I look forward to working with him further."
