Thornton departs from Ricoh Arena

The 22-year-old midfielder leaves the Ricoh Arena "by mutual consent" according to the club's official website. Thornton, who made 50 first-team appearances in four years for the Sky Blues, was last month convicted of being over the legal limit, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a full licence or insurance. The club did not find out about the incident until after the court case and immediately launched an investigation.
