Thorn upbeat despite loss
City can't fault his players Coventry City manager Andy Thorn remains upbeat despite overseeing his side's third loss in three games. Coventry went down to another 1-0 defeat in a game which Thorn claimed his side controlled except for a brief moment when they switched off allowing Birmingham to score. Thorn said, "Everything is stacked against us at the present time but I have good bunch of lads and if continue to apply ourselves we will start picking up the points. "We controlled our own performance and frustrated Birmingham. We just switched off for a couple of seconds and the ball finished in the back of the net." With Coventry City lacking a cutting edge up front, they were never likely to score and only had a couple of decent chances which Jutkiewicz and Bell squandered. Last season Coventry created more scoring opportunities than any other Championship club, but also had the lowest conversion of chances to goals in the league. This season they are not even creating many chances so when they do occur it is vital that they are taken. Thorn concluded by saying, "I thought Sammy Clingan ran the game and apart of the result I cannot fault the players."
