Thorn Ready To Go
City Boss just waiting for the embargo to be lifted
Coventry City manager Andy Thorn is ready to sign players as soon as the transfer embargo is lifted.
Despite Thorn working on a fighting fund budget rather than a budget that will give the team a shot at promotion back to the Championship, Thorn has identitified the players he wants such as Shrewsbury Town's out of contract Cov Kid in James Collins.
“The players I am looking at are free transfers so they are not going to cost anything,” said Thorn to the CT's Andy Turner. “First of all we need to come out of the transfer embargo and then as soon as that happens we need to go bang, bang, bang.
“They are all there but until we come out of the embargo we can’t do anything.
"We’re working hard on our targets and got players lined up, who we know want to come, but we’re still not sure what market we’re in.”
Any transfers coming will be depend on the transfer embargo, who prohibits the registration of new players, being lifted. To do do this, City must provide their accounts to Companies House and the Football League with a budget for next season.
However, it appears that next season's budget all depends on owners SISU being able to get some sort of stake in the Ricoh Arena, some thing which according to City Council Leader John Mutton is not close after the latest round of talks.
