Thorn Pleased With Cody Debut

We Will Get Cody fit says City boss Coventry City manager Andy Thorn was pleased the debut of Cody McDonald. The striker who joined City from Norwich on transfer deadline day last month, played for 75 minutes in the 2-0 win over Derby County on Saturday and it was his first game this season, after the City management made the decision not to play him in last week's reserve game versus Shrewsbury Town. Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Thorn said: “I was pleased with Cody as because that was his first game of the season, having not even played a pre-season friendly. “There was no point bringing him on because I wanted him to have a blast and then blow up. Juke’s attitude and professionalism has been second to none and I thought he was awesome. He got hold of the ball and was a focal point for us and I had no hesitation in him taking the penalty and he’ll probably be telling me he’s one in two now, but he thoroughly deserved it. “We said at half time that Cody just lacks a bit of match sharpness but that will come. Juke was winning things and Cody’s timing just wasn’t there, but that will come. He just hasn’t played but we will get him fit.”
